Gladys Edmunds, the self-made founder of travel company Edmunds Travel consultants, has pointed out the importance of maintaining a good business website from a strong address.
Writing for USA Today, she states that if a firm is "procrastinating" about whether to set up a website, "now is the time to get one".
She also offers a list of essential considerations for firms considering their own ventures into the online realm, the first being accessibility.
"Being able to locate your company by a domain name that is the name of your business makes it easier for you," she states.
Secondly, updating and keeping content fresh is also essential, along with ensuring site visitors have "easy and enjoyable" experiences, by making icons, phone numbers and addresses prominent pages, Ms Edwards added.
Finally, the entrepreneur reminds that "customer service is the lifeline of a successful business" and that all client correspondence should be speedy and personal, rather than automated responses.
Another US business figure who periodically offers advice to domain name professionals is Scott Alliy, who recently claimed that firms that hesitate to buy a domain name are losing money the longer they wait.
