20th April 2009 ABCsearch 'to develop Advertise.com'

It has been revealed that ABCsearch, the firm which bought premium domain name Advertise.com earlier this year, is planning to develop the site and rebrand.
Speaking to industry magazine Domain Name Wire, the chief executive officer of ABCsearch Daniel Yomtobian has explained why the firm bought the generic domain name.
Last year, ABCsearch experienced "explosive growth", Mr Yomtobian said, something which made him realise that "the company would have to do something bold to ensure our future success".
Two problems with the firm's marketability arose, he continued. Firstly, the brand was not well known outside of industry circles and secondly, its business model did not sufficiently cater for the multitudes of advertising opportunities out there.
So, the executive states, "I decided to acquire a domain name robust enough to reach everyone in the online advertising community". The address will allow ABCsearch to place all of its tools under one memorable and easily accessible name.
"It did not come cheap though, but in the long run, it will pay off," he added.
Meanwhile, the generic domain names Ads.com and Advertizements.com are still up for sale should an ambitious company wish to follow the example of Mr Yomtobian.
