25th September 2007 Advertising.com makes its own publicity
Domain name news brought to you by DescriptiveDomainNames.com
Companies are constantly being warned of the value that online advertising can bring to their firm, but one website needs no reminder.
Advertising.com, one the web's largest advertising networks, deals out advertising services and advice, rather than receiving it, with the company no less lacking in its generation of web hits.
Internet information provider comScore's Media Matrix listings placed advertising.com at the top of its ad focus rankings, with the site deemed to have reached 89 per cent of the 181 million US internet users.
Others in the sector rankings like Specific media, Google and Interclick managed significantly less web exposure, with big grower Adconian still only reaching 43 per cent of the online population.
A factor distinguishing advertising.com from the pack is surely its generic domain name, with product-specific searches in the sector most likely to arrive at and subsequently trust the site.
The simple generic domain name conveys a sense of expertise in the sector, catching all searches for advertising-related content and providing the basis for vast web success.
