The domain name affiliate.com has been bought this week for an impressive sum of money.
Generic domain name affiliate.com was purchased by Media Breakway, a company which describes itself as "specialising in online and offline marketing solutions", DN Journal reported.
The American-based company put forward a notable $579,900 for the domain name.
This sale ranks among one of the biggest made this year and comes in the same week as another versatile generic name, printer.com, sold for $800,000.
Domain name registry Moniker handled the deal for the website, which could be used for financial-based purposes or to connect businesses.
Media Breakway currently operates the CPA Empire affiliate advertisement network.
Page Howe, an American entrepreneur who made his fortune by flipping domain names, recently spoke out in praise of the practice and told DN Journal how he turned his fortunes around after the burst of dot com bubble.
