The Mom's Choice Awards has highlighted generic domain name NewBaby.com as a winner in its family and parenting category.
Recognising media publications, products and organisations for their creativity and commitment, the awards were judged by high-profile figures such as co-author of Chicken Soup for the Soul LeAnn Thieman, parent coach and awards founder Tara Paterson and movie producer Dr Letitia Wright.
Bob Sullivan, chief executive officer of NewBaby.com, stated that it was "quite an honour" for the generic domain name to be selected for the accolade.
"Our goal starting out was to be a trusted resource and community for moms to learn and share via video," he explained.
Companies operating from generic domain names are no strangers to awards, it would appear.
Phone.com recently received the Technology Marketing Corporation's 2008 Product of the Year Award for its Virtual Office application.
