28th January 2009 Brides.com contest treats couples to Empire State wedding

Following a competition run by generic domain name Brides.com, 14 lucky couples are set to say 'I do' at the top of New York's iconic Empire State Building on Valentine's Day.
The event will last for the whole day and is the only time the famous skyscraper allows marriages to take place within its grounds.
Of the 400 couples that battled it out through the Brides.com contest, one will become the first ever same-sex pair to marry at the top of the building.
Representatives from premium domain name Brides.com will be involved in the design of the wedding space and provide consultations with the couples.
Editor-in-chief of Brides.com Michelle Preli stated: "This year's couples comprise a diverse mix of individuals with heartfelt, compelling love stories to celebrate. There's nothing better than helping them create their own unique ceremonies on their special day."
Those couples saying their vows on top of the building next month may like to turn to another generic domain name - Hotels.com, for their honeymoon arrangements.
The site has just launched an extensive advertising campaign across digital formats as well as more traditional ones.
