A domain name entrepreneur has highlighted the benefits of carefully selecting relevant domain names for businesses.
Scott Alliy, who owns hundreds of domain names, is president of Allied Internet Solutions Inc and created the world largest training search engine, findaseminar.com.
He outlined the importance of the internet in his and many other people's everyday life, saying if a disaster occurred in his home, he would turn to the internet rather than the telephone.
Mr Alliy told addpr.com that he would "type a search" for plumbers, should his water pipes burst for example, and even "try direct navigation searches".
He also mentioned that he would try several generic domain names to suit the purpose, such as mytownplumbing.com.
Businesses should be thinking in these terms, discussing with their marketing staff all of the names which would be relevant for them, Mr Alliy urged.
"Let the myopic competition fight it out for top search listing while you quietly and confidently acquire all the most searched key phrase domain names and take over your niche", he added.
Mr Alliy also recently advised companies to obtain as many domain names as possible to beat off competitors within their sector.
