Classes are now available for people wishing to learn how to buy and sell domain names.
Some generic domains, which bypass search engines, command a high price at auction with analysts predicting solid growth in the next few years.
While the six-figure sums that the most sought after domains go for might not quite be the norm, winning bids of over $20,000 are not uncommon.
After making a success of his own domain name investments, Geoff Gilgoff is seeking to share his knowledge.
He has launched a series of classes for people interested in making money from domain names.
"There have been several recent articles giving insight into how others have built huge fortunes with their domain portfolios," Mr Gilgoff's marketing literature says.
"The number of people who have made these great sums of money is small - but there are thousands of people throughout the world who have invested small amounts and make a constant supplemental income."
The classes are designed to provide an insight into how to identify domain names with potential and how to ensure that those domain names increase in value after purchase.
