The second largest domain name deal of the year was completed this week, according to industry website DN Journal.
It is reported that bids for Computer.com resulted in a final bid of $2.1 million - as the industry continues to place increased emphasis on the importance of generic domain names.
According to the site, the sale is second only to the sale of Porn.com which was sold by the same distributor, Moniker, for a price of $9.5 million in May this year.
The sale closed alongside a number of others that formed part of Moniker and T.R.A.F.F.I.C.'s east auction that came to a close this week.
It is also noted that a previous bid of $2.2 million was rejected as the foreign investment group involved was reportedly unable to transfer the payment in time, meaning the second place bidder scooped the site for $100,000 under the closing sale.
Moniker recently launched an online-only casino, gaming and affiliate auction that is due to end on December 6th.
