After an apparent boom in the ccTLD investment industry, this week's top-selling domain names see a strong dominance of .coms.
The top selling name on DN Journal's list was Action.com, selling for $230,000, followed by InsuranceLeads.com.
Generic domain name UsedGuitars.com also found a home in the top five after being sold by Moniker/T.R.A.F.F.I.C East. The domain name may prove valuable internet real estate for any company specialising in second-hand electric or acoustic guitars.
Other generic .coms in the top 20 include Kitchenette.com and geodomain OysterBay.com one of the sales from the GeoDomain Expo in Chicago earlier this month.
Banks.net was the highest non-.com domain name, with the generic hitting number four in the list. Any finance comparison company could be expected to find an internet market using the URL.
So far the newly-released .me TLD has not made the journal's high-value sales list, but given time URLs such as Insure.me me may make an appearance.
