CookingGames.com sells for $350,000

The $350,000 sale of CookingGames.com shows that descriptive domain names continue to sell for high prices despite the current economic climate.
The sale at NoktaDomains came in the last week of 2009. The name has been purchased by Hallpass Media which aims to be a one stop online entertainment network, one section of which focuses on online games for girls.
Cooking and dressing up games are very popular with young girls and give rise to good revenue opportunities from fashion and makeup ads on the game sites.
Hallpass Media have many other descriptive domain names, such as GirlGames.com and StickGames.com, and have shown that with careful development these sites can make good business sense.
There was another six-figure generic domain name sale in the same week with Leisure.com selling for $150,000 at Sedo.
