Cooking.com to 'expand operations'

Cooking.com has raised $7 million to expand its product offerings and operations over the next few years.
The website, which sells kitchen products for use in cookery, is receiving the cash boost from ORIX Venture Finance.
Tracy Randall, founder and president of Cooking.com, said: "We are very excited about establishing a long-term relationship with ORIX and believe the company will be the ideal financing partner to help us achieve our growth goals in 2008 and beyond."
Cooking.com recently came in at number 178 in a poll of the top 500 Internet Retailers.
The website is planning to expand the 90,000 products which it currently has on offer as well as developing community content within the site.
It has proved popular with both professional chefs and people who enjoy cooking within the home and sells appliances such as bread makers, as well as gadgets and cutlery.
