CrimeReports.com is the latest of the premium domain names currently in use to announce it has boosted its web traffic, it has emerged.
The website, which offers the general public access to reports on police activity in their area, has announced that it now hopes to see increases visitor figures by adding Riverdale Park in Maryland, USA to its list of users.
It is reported that the town will pay a fee so that all of its residents can access the site and use its services for free, increasing the web traffic and increasing the potential for online marketing.
Commenting on the site, police chief Teresa Chambers said: "We want to put the information out there to help the residents."
Earlier this year, police and officials in the states of Utah announced their backing for the generic domain name as it would create a link between the public and local law enforcement.
CrimeReports.com is also used by a number of cities in the US including a further 15 states.
