A generically named website which specialises in offering nutritional advice has launched a new scheme as part of its ongoing growth, it has emerged.
According to Boston.com, a new facility from Diet.com will offer those looking to lose or manage their weight a text messaging service that will detail the nutritional information on over 36,000 products and foods.
Named Nutrition on the Go, the service lists products from around 1,700 restaurants and food chains including Starbucks, McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts.
It is hoped that the four-year-old website and health portal will use the service to generate awareness of its online membership and will use advertising to subsidise the free facility.
Diet.com has built an online community that encourages its members to take part in its Weight Loss Challenge programme as well as take part in user blogs, message boards and polls.
