A number of generic domain names are reaching high prices at auction this week, according to Sedo.
A list of current auctions which are set to ends in the next few days are generating a significant amount of interest with some domains attracting bids of up to $130,000.
Sites such as DiscountTravel.co.uk ($23,629) are performing well with a number of bids and the reserve price met and a number of .mobi sites such as Sports.mobi ($19,999) and art.mobi ($9,750) also due to close over the next week.
However, by far the best performing of the auctions currently listed is Zimbabwe.com which at $130,000 shows that the value of a generically named .com address is still significantly higher than other domains.
Earlier this month internet commerce and media firm Communicate.com announced record results of around $4.85 million for the third quarter of 2007, Reuters reports.
