An entrepreneur who started buying domain names ten years ago can now afford to live off the practice, he has related.
Howard Hoffman, owner of recently rebranded water company aso2cool.com, started buying related names such as HealthWater.com in order to direct more traffic towards his site.
He now owns one hundred domains and invests the money he makes into his water company, it has been reported.
Mr Hoffman said: "Like most people in the business, my wife thought I was crazy, wasting time and money on domains. However, she now understands how good it's been that I stuck with them."
MSN point out that as the amount of domain names is limited and 1.4 billion people are now connected to the web, owning internet space can only become more lucrative for investors.
A Russian entrepreneur with ambitions to expand his product into America paid $3 million (£1.5 million) to obtain the domain vodka.com.
