Firm adds Games.co.uk to generic domain portfolio

An online gaming company has added to its portfolio of generically-named domains with the acquisition of Games.co.uk, it has emerged.
The Netherlands-based Spill Group, which also has offices in Poland and China, made the announcement last week and although the cost of the address is yet to be confirmed it was noted that the purchase adds to the company's rapidly growing empire.
It was reported that the acquisition will compliment the company's portfolio of sites that include GamesGames.com and Juegos.com - the Spanish translation of Games.com - among others.
The company has previously signalled its intention to acquire a number of other games websites and states that the addition of Games.co.uk will offer "a local casual gaming solution to players in the United Kingdom".
It was also noted that the company has experienced significant growth since 2005 and now counts itself as one of the top five firms in the "casual game traffic" industry generating vast marketing opportunities with around "55 million unique visitors per month" playing over 1.5 billion games.
