The company operating from valuable generic domain name Printer.com has lent a helping hand to firms struggling with costs amid the recession by publishing a list of the most cost-effective business printers available on the market.
According to the generic domain name, owning a printer can cost some organisations up to $10,000 a year in maintenance, toner and ink costs.
However, if they want to avoid this, firms could do well to buy a model such as the Xerox Phaser 8560 MFP N, which retails at $1,451 and will cost between $6,193 and $7,644 annually to maintain.
Other printers noted are the Konica-Minolta Magicolor 4690 MF at $1,000 and the Xerox Phraser 8860 MFP D for $3,653, which will cost up to $7,894 and $8,037 respectively to operate per year.
Director of US operations for the firm Bob Crum commented: "Business owners need to be aware of the long term cost implications of buying less expensive printers. The ownership costs of these printers are generally higher because of more expensive toner replacement costs."
Meanwhile, those firms dealing in printers who want to forge a high profile online may be interested to learn that one of the most valuable domain names in the industry - Printers.com, is still available for purchase.
