Generic domains performing well at Christmas

Despite the pause in business that is sometimes associated with Christmas, generic domain names have continued to sell for high prices over the festive period, according to DN Journal.
The industry news website reports that a number of high profile sales have recently taken place including the sale of Our.com which changed hands for $60,000 at an auction conducted by Sedo.
Among the other high value generic domain name sales recorded this week were Personified.com, which took $35,000 and MyEnergy.com that achieved a price of $25,000 at an auction conducted by AfternicDLS.
GreenhouseGases.com was also sold via the host for $21,975 and ChiliDogs.com was scooped up by one buyer for $18,100.
AfternicDLS is currently hosting a number of other generically named domains including PhoneAcessories.com which currently has an asking price of $49,999 with a minimum offer of $24,999.
