Sedo has revealed its list of the most expensive domain names it has sold so far this year, a chart which features several generic dotcom addresses.
It seems 2008 has been particularly lucrative for the organisation, with the top sale being that of Invest.com, which went for an impressive $1,015,000 last month.
Following this is the $400,000 Tell.com and Tees.com, which generated $252,500 and is now being used by an Illinois-based company also operating from Tshirts.com and attracts 17,000 visitors monthly.
Tests.com, Sumo.com and Revolution.org all followed suit, selling for $176,505, $150,000 and $120,000 respectively.
"Sedo's impressive sales thus far this year demonstrate that the domain industry continues to present a solid investment opportunity in the midst of an economic turndown," said Jeremiah Johnston, chief operating officer of Sedo.
According to the firm's website, Sedo lists over 14 million domain names for sale and has around 800,000 registered members globally.
