Musicnotes.com, a generic website that sells tablature for musicians, has announced some impressive figures amid the economic crisis.
The site, which allows users to access downloadable sheet music for guitars, experienced a fourth-quarter digital sales growth of 25 to 30 percent.
On Cyber Monday, the first day of the online retail week following Thanksgiving, sales grew by over 35 percent through Musicnotes' online channel - more than was predicted previously.
According to other forecasts from the firm, downloads of sheet music are expected to hit the 150,000 mark in December 2008, coming close to the overall five million sales point expected to be reached next year.
Chief finance officer Tim Reiland commented: "Musicnotes is showing its mettle in a rough economic environment. The consumer advantages to our digital delivery model are compelling, and we have aggressive plans for continued growth."
The number of unique daily visits to the site also exceeded 100,000 for the first time last month and traffic was found have increased by 25 per cent compared to the same time in 2007.
Another generic website that is considering the economic turndown in its operations is Support.com, which recent launched a new tech support service for its customers.
