Generic domain name Results.com was sold yesterday through the UK-based marketplace Sedo for $500,000.
This figure has been reported by Domain Name Wire, although Sedo has not yet officially released its sales results from the last week.
The premium domain name, which has the potential to be used across several industries, including academia, gaming or sports, at present advertises a business coaching firm.
Sedo has sold a number of high-value generic domain names of late, including Body.com ($400,000) and Toys.com ($5.1 million), the highest price paid for a domain name so far in 2009.
Businesses who would like to follow suit and purchase a slice of prime internet real estate could consider buying generic domain names such as MiniMotorcycles.com or CompetitionTips.com.
