23rd February 2009 Host of generic domain names sold this week
Domain name news brought to you by DescriptiveDomainNames.com
It has been an encouraging week for the sale of generic domain names as savvy investors shun the recession and buy up some slices of internet real estate.
As well as the high-value sales of Dollars.com, Trusted.Com, two other generic domain names of particular note have found new owners for respectable prices.
FineWatches.com, which could provide the internet headquarters for an independent jewellery maker or a larger business, was sold for $40,450, entering news provider Domain Name Journal's weekly sales chart at number five.
However, the premium domain name had to share its spot with another generic domain that sold for the same price - LowRate.com.
The scope for use is particularly wide for the latter domain name - it could help to forge a web presence for a finance firm, insurance firm, a holiday company or any business wanting to offer low-cost services.
For those in the jewellery industry, generic domain name Pendants.com is still available for purchase, while those interested in the recent sale of LowRate.com may like to consider the benefits of buying similar premium domain name LowPrices.com.
