Domain name news brought to you by DescriptiveDomainNames.com
Hotels.com, the global provider of lodgings, has published a comprehensive study of the global hotels market.
The portal, which boasts an ideal generic domain name for its sector and features more than 85,000 properties worldwide, commissioned research that is sure to make pleasant reading to travellers.
According to Hotels.com's study, the price of booking a room fell by a global average of 12 per cent in 2008. That reduction takes hotel prices to just one per cent above the level recorded in January 2004.
However, experts in the generic domain name sector who are planning on visiting the Domain Roundtable in Washington DC this June may not notice the same trend. Hotels.com revealed that prices in the city rose by three per cent last year.
Generic domain names available for those who are looking for something akin to Hotels.com range from Guesthouses.com, which has a minimum bidding price of £100,000, to AccomodationAgents.com, which starts at £2,900.
