Though Howard Neu is a familiar name in the domain name sphere, he started out on a very different path before making his money in the industry, Domain Name Journal reports.
Co-founder of the Traffic conference, Howard Neu's colourful past has included being a law school graduate, singer, actor, interviewer, mayor.
The ambitious entrepreneur, who once rubbed shoulders with the biggest names in music, film and radio, now makes his living as a domain name attorney.
After spotting a hole in the market for lawyers specialised in domain names, Neu's entrepreneurial side grabbed the opportunity with both hands and resulted in him meeting his Traffic business partner, Rick Schwartz.
Neu, whose grandparents arrived on Ellis Island from Poland in the 20s with no English-speaking abilities, is one of several figures to have embraced domain name industry and made their fortune in the sector.
Another domain name professional - Warren Royal - told the publication in January how he made his millions by acquiring and selling generic domain names, such as Hologram.com and Procurement.com.
