Importance of renewing domain names discussed

Domain Name Wire has featured advice on why it is important to renew domain names regularly.
The publication recommended owners be cautious when it comes to renewing name registration, as "technology helps keep on top of domain name renewals" but cannot do all of the work alone.
The first piece of advice from the site is to "turn on auto-renew by default", as paying accidentally is better than losing the name.
Secondly, using a programme to keep track of domains is also recommended.
Last of all, the experts urge investors to register names as far in advance as possible.
"Not only does it protect your domains, but you can renew at today's prices. Dot com registration prices increase next month and will likely increase for the next three years," it was pointed out.
The publication also claimed that major search engine Google favours names that are registered for years into the future.
It seems the benefits of a well-maintained domain name can pay dividends, entrepreneur Michael Ambrose recently paid $60,000 for freecoupon.com.
