Travel website LastMinute.com has raised its profile on the TV screen with a new advertising drive.
For the first time in four years, Lastminute.com, a generic domain name which deals with travel bookings, has launched a new TV advertisement which will be aired on ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.
It features a Mexican wave which will be screened during consecutive ad breaks across the three channels.
Simon Thompson, chief executive of the firm, stated that it has returned to TV due to its effectiveness as an advertising medium in the midst of the current recession.
"To follow this ad consumers need to participate and there is very much a sense of a time-related action. Hats off to the TV companies on this - they and our media agency OMD have really allowed us to harness this opportunity," he added.
Other travel-related generic domain names that may prove to be productive when it comes to catching online traffic are BulgariaHotels.com and TravelsInformation.com.
