Howard Hochhauser, chief finance officer of Martha Stewart magazine in the US, has quit his post to work for generically named site Ancestry.com, it has emerged.
Mr Hochhauser will now join Ancestry.com's parent firm the Generations Network in Utah as chief finance officer.
During a recent interview with Reuters, he said that he has worked in his current role for "nine years", which he stated was "a long time".
He added that the publishing house will recover from the effects of the poor economy and is in "a good spot".
Ancestry.com has more than seven billion names and 26,000 historical records stored online and operates local sites in nine countries.
Generations Network also owns Genealogy.com, Rootsweb.ancestry.com and dna.ancestry.com.
In other positive news for the domain name industry, it was announced this week that generic site Buy.com saw record sales on Cyber Monday, or the Monday following thanksgiving in the US.
