With a view to improve its customer relationship management (CRM), the company running from the generic domain name Salesforce.com has unveiled a new application for the BlackBerry, iPhone and Windows Mobile handsets.
The new technology, named Mobile Lite, was revealed at the firm's annual Cloudforce event, which was held in London. It is a simplified and more accessible take on the firm's existing mobile access platform.
Chairman and chief executive officer of Salesforce Marc Benioff explained: "We want even more customers to experience the success possible with mobile access to our cloud."
He added that the firm wants its customers "to take the cloud with them wherever they go" and through this new application, Salesforce is aiming to encourage its growth.
Like Salesforce.com, running a business from a generic domain name, such as Conveyancing.com or FingerprintLocks.com, may lead to more recognition and greater traffic volumes as they are widely believed to be pieces of internet real estate.
