27th June 2007 New community to share domain sales news
Domain name news brought to you by DescriptiveDomainNames.com
A new community-driven website has been launched which allows the domain name industry to submit their own reviews of the latest industry news and have it peer reviewed.
Called DNHour.com, the site uses algorithms to show how popular various news stories are and allows browsers to vote on whether stories are worth promotion to the site's front page, thus making them open to mass readership.
DNHour.com has been started by a Malaysian-based domain name owner called Koay Al Vin, who wanted a way of keeping in the loop about the latest domain name sales and all the listing sites available.
"The talk of today is social-everything. In this generation of Web 2.0, we are talking about blogging, wikis and crowd clout where like-minded groups connect online and exert influence in an industry," said Mr Al Vin.
"DNHour.com is crowd clout for the domain name industry. Now domainers are discovering that they can choose which news or services are popular and demote those that are not."
Some of the categories on the site are Recent Sales, Domains on Auction and users can also talk to each other through posting facilities.
