27th October 2008 'Now is the time' to buy domain names

Businesses looking for the perfect generic domain name might like to pay attention to the great deals that are around at the moment.
That is the recommendation of Domain Name Wire, which draws a parallel between the domain name market and shares.
Recent sales of domain names such as Fifties.com and Bananasplit.com have reaped about three times less money than they might have last year, the news provider claims. However, it adds that that the names could be back up to that level by this time next year.
While the domain name market is not as mature as the stock market, the long-term benefits arrive much more quickly.
"I think we'll start to see a rebound in prices shortly," claims the site.
"Also, since domains aren't as liquid as stocks, many people will sell them below market value just to raise needed cash."
Meanwhile, those planning on attending DomainFest in January may have been interested to learn of a sizeable investment being made into the conference.
DomainSponsor announced recently that more than $1 million will be given to fund the event.
