25th February 2009 OfficialBoxOffice.com aims to undercut ticket touts

The ongoing problem of ticket touting has been tackled head-on by one firm, which is using a generic domain name from which to run its operations.
OfficialBoxOffice.com has been launched by the Concert Promoters Association (CPA), which aims to create a space where those who cannot attend the concerts for which they hold tickets can sell them on to those who originally missed out.
The site, run from a premium domain name, will help towards tackling extortionate prices, fake tickets and hopes to help stamp out ticket touts.
"In response to the lack of imminent decisive government action on ticket touts, the CPA today announce that they have set up a site for music fans to purchase tickets confidently," the organisation said in a statement.
If, like the CPA, a business wishes to establish its own independent entertainment-related website, generic domain names MovieReleases.com and AllFreeMusic.com could provide similarly useful bases.
