Overstock.com offers families $50,000 prize

In a bid to extend a lifeline to families struggling financially during the economic downturn, Overstock.com has announced that it is to offer a prize of $50,000 to those entering its competition.
Online retailer Overstock.com will hand over $50,000 to a lucky winner who will be entered into the draw for free by simply filling out their details or automatically entered upon purchasing goods through the site.
Starting on November 24th, the deadline to enter has been set for December 30th 2008.
Patrick Byrne, Overstock.com chairman and chief executive officer, explained: "We're sinking into the most challenging economic environment since the great depression. This is our way of lending a helping hand to those who need it".
In other domain name news, operating from the generic site Live.com, Microsoft's search engine recently announced that it is now offering its users a range of enhanced applications.
