Last week Paris played host to the Domainer Meeting, an event that featured France-themed entertainment, keynote speakers and over $360,000 worth of sales.
The meeting was held on June 19th and 20th at Hotel Le Meridien Montparnasse which includes one of Europe's largest in-hotel meeting centres.
Topics included tax optimisation, how to build and develop a domain or brand and the latest news in legal issues.
Keynote speakers included Victor Pitts and Monte Cahn of Moniker.com and Name.com's owner Bill Mushkin.
The "ultimate goal" of the event was to "foster growth and development of our industry through new partnerships and friendships," according to the official website.
Sales amounting to $361,000 were produced in the Moniker live domain name auction, reported DNJournal.com. High value sales for generic domain names included PhoneAccessories.com and Motorbikes.net.
SoccerScores.com and ComputerNotebooks.com were also in the bid directory. An extended online auction will continue until June 26th on Moniker.com.
Also at the meeting, it was announced that the Internet Commerce Association will establish a partner organisation in Europe, in co-operation with EuroDNS, DNJournal.com reported.
