Generic domain name printer.com has been sold for a six figure sum, reports state.
The address fetched a handsome $800,000 when it sold this week to Dutch company Treasuron.
The firm has spent almost half of their funds on acquiring the name, reported DN Journal.
Coming in amongst the biggest generic domain sales of the year so far, the website could be used for a wide range of purposes, including selling IT-based goods, advising on various printer products or for specialist printing services.
However, according to information posted on the website's front page, the site will not go live until September 2nd.
The Dutch-based magazine WebWereld reported details of the sale, highlighting printer.com's status as one of this year's top earners for the domain name industry.
Other generic addresses in the news this week include freecoupons.com, which was recently bought by entrepreneur Michael Ambrose for $60,000, DN Journal documented.
Mr Ambrose also owns the lucrative product-selling website cleaning.com.
