11th September 2008 RISMedia: Why you should purchase multiple domain names

When registering a domain name, businesses should acquire as many they think will be relevant to them as possible, according to an expert.
Craig Proctor of RIS Media has advised that companies should do this for several different reasons.
He wrote that while running a central website is integral, it is unlikely that this will "be the source of lead generation by virtue of the fact that it is linked to you, a salesperson".
Instead, this website name should be used in all business communications in order to give it maximum exposure and therefore "real consumer benefit", it was argued.
As well as a primary site, enterprises should have another address which attracts a second raft of internet users while displaying the connection with the first site in a more subtle manner, Mr Proctor counseled.
Similar measures were also recently suggested by successful entrepreneur Scott Alliy, who made his money in domain name ownership.
