Sedo's finds success in numeric domain name sales

Domain name dealer Sedo has revealed that it has found success in the selling of a host of numeric-based addresses, as it revealed its top related sales of the year so far.
Among these was 77.com, which fetched $350,000, the highest numeric sale of the year for the firm.
Following on were 248.com, selling for $175,000 and 49.com, which was snapped up for the price of $91,500.
This may indicate that numeric domain names are increasing in popularity and being viewed as more lucrative by businesses and individuals alike.
Jeremiah Johnston, chief operating officer and general counsel at Sedo, agrees with this viewpoint and said the names are a "wise investment for both portfolio owners and developers".
He continued: "We continue to see an increasing demand for these types of names as companies and individuals find more creative ways to brand and market their sites."
Geographical domain names also appear to be popular of late, with SanJuan.com selling at the recent Traffic Down Under convergence for $150,000.
