Simple domain name 'key to online retail'

The importance of a clear and easy to remember web address, such as those offered by generic domain names, has been highlighted by one expert who states that it is one of the key elements of a successful website.
According to Robert Riles, owner and webmaster of online sports collectibles store Sky Fire Products, it is vital for a retailer's website to be memorable, simple and relevant to the product.
"Choose a good domain name for your site. Try to keep it relevant to what you are selling and as simple and easy to spell as possible," he advised.
He added that the best way to generate traffic is to use keywords wherever possible and by acquiring a domain name that utilises keywords, webmasters can maximise their listings.
"Incorporate the most relevant [keyword] into your URL if possible, and use the others extensively on your web site in order to optimise it for search engine result pages," he concluded.
