Domain name news brought to you by DescriptiveDomainNames.com
At a time when the motoring industry appears to be experiencing setbacks due to the recession, generic domain name Cars.com is painting a very different picture of the situation.
According to the website, it experienced a surge in traffic this month, following a marketing campaign it launched for Super Bowl XLII.
During the week of the big Super Bowl game, an advertisement launched by the site exposed the business to 98.7 million viewers and it saw a 12 per cent in traffic to its website, compared to the same time in 2008.
The firm's president Mitch Golub explained that "car shoppers are going online now more than ever to do their homework, and because of our investment in marketing, they are coming to Cars.com."
Making a domain name investment in a generic site such as Cars.com is all part of the success story for many firms.
Contrary to what many may assume, there are still a wide range of valuable domain names, such as DieselFuel.com and MotoringUK.com, are still available for the taking.
