Bidding for the generic domain name Top.com has reached an impressive high even before the bidding has closed, it has been reported.
Currently being run by domain name registrar Sedo, the auction for ownership of Top.com has already reached $133,000.
This may be due to it being a versatile premium generic domain name and having the potential to lend itself to a number of uses in a business context.
It could be used as a search engine, a ratings site or even a retail platform selling shirts or women's clothing.
The auction is due to close on January 29th and other names currently available include Acaijuice.com, AthensPlumbing.com and SportsMemorabilia.co.uk, reports Domain Name Wire.
Some other premium domain names to be sold for high prices through Sedo in recent times are Basket.com ($888,888), 25.com ($124,555) and MySoccer.com ($50,000).
