A US-based traffic information service has announced this week that it will be able to offer free information to its users through new mobile phone technology.
It is reported that NAVTEQ Traffic Operations Centres will deliver real-time information through its generically named domain Traffic.com so that customers in Miami can make the most of its services using mobile or other wireless equipment.
Traffic.com, which claims to be "a leading provider of traffic solutions to consumers and businesses", will utilise its data to provide "comprehensive coverage" to its clients that will include congestion reports, predictive traffic trends and delay information.
It is noted that the Traffic.com will now be available for free to a number of users as well as being offered through other radio, television, internet and portable navigation systems.
NAVTEQ selected Traffic.com to provide its services, which also include digital maps, navigation systems and other business solutions.
