Successful personalised traffic information provider traffic.com is to expand even further, according to the latest reports.
The Chicago-based firm, which provides local people with reports on where they are likely to find congestion on the roads, looks to pull in even more visitors if its plans come to fruition.
Traffic.com has gone from strength to strength with is easy-to-remember generic domain name helping it to score millions of hits and attract more and more visitors every year.
As part of its development plans, the firm will now expand its US coverage and increase local content that will make driving easier, particularly for Labor Day weekend.
In order to do this, traffic.com will provide visitors with "state-of-the-art interactive traffic mapping" as and more information on "traffic flow with travel times on more city roadways."
"Drivers hitting the road this Labor Day weekend will be guided by the traffic.com's proprietary data processing that handles, on average, 50 million real time traffic data records daily," commented John MacLeod, senior vice president of Naveteq, which provides traffic.com with digital maps.
