A sprinkling of magic has been added to the domain name world as Voodoo.com went under the hammer this week for the high price of $300,000.
The premium domain name was sold at an auction hosted by Aftermarket.com during the recent Domainer Mardi Gras, which was scheduled to coincide with the world-famous Mardi Gras festival in New Orleans.
As a generic domain name, Voodoo.com could provide an online base for an existing brand name, or could be used to sell goods or provide information associated with Voodoo traditions and rituals.
Further examples of generic domain names, such as RusticLighting.com and ChildrensJewellery.com can be obtained online without the need to attend an auction.
Other names which sold at the auction include StorageFacility.com ($3,500) and CandyCane.com ($10,000), reports Domain Name News.
